The Early Learning Center at St. Paul’s is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, offering year-round childcare and preschool. Unlike most daycare centers, we offer flexible childcare options that adapt to modern family life — without ever compromising the quality of care or connection we’re known for.
For more than 40 years, the ELC has provided trusted, play-based learning that meets families where they are, giving parents peace of mind and children a place to grow, explore, and belong.

Childcare
We offer childcare for children from birth to age 5, with flexible scheduling that allows families to choose the days and times that work best for them. Families can build a routine that fits their life, with options for core programming and extended-day care in a nurturing, play-based environment.

Preschool
Our preschool program gives children the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow through hands-on experiences. With a strong focus on social-emotional development, early literacy, and play-based learning, we help each child build confidence and curiosity as they prepare for kindergarten. Families can customize the days their child attends to best support their needs.

Summer Care
Our Summer Care program keeps the learning and fun going through June, July, and August. With flexible scheduling and a mix of outdoor play, creative projects, and themed activities, children enjoy a joyful, enriching summer in a familiar environment. Perfect for maintaining routine while embracing the lighter, playful rhythm of summer.

Hi! I’m Julie Hanlin, Executive Director of The ELC.
As a full-time working mom, I believe deeply in the power of flexible, high-quality childcare. Families today juggle so much, and every child deserves a place where they feel safe, supported, and celebrated for who they are.
